Sass n’ Soul Magazine Submission Guidelines

Welcome to Sass n’ Soul Digital Magazine! We are thrilled that you are interested in contributing to our publication, which focuses on women’s leadership, legacy, and overall personal and professional success. Our magazine aims to educate, inspire, and empower women through the lens of a life on purpose, authenticity, and self-actualizing—becoming the next best version of yourself. We are seeking down-to-earth writers to contribute across a spectrum of topics including, Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Personal- Development, Self-Care and Wellness, Networking, Success, Finances, Social Media, Technology, and whatever you can pitch that we didn’t think about that would add to the Sass, Soul, and Cool of our magazine.

General Guidelines

  1. Audience: Our readers are women who value authenticity, leadership, and personal growth and want to make the world a better place. They are interested in “living a life On Purpose” and weaving a meaningful legacy.
  2. Content: We accept articles, essays, personal stories, interviews, how-to guides, infographics, flash fiction, photo essays, poems, quote stories, roundups, case studies, profiles, and more that align with our brand and message.
  3. Originality: All submissions must be original and unpublished. We do not accept previously published content, including blog posts or social media updates.
  4. Length: Articles, essays, and personal stories should be between 500 and 1,500 words. Blog posts should be between 250 – 800 words. Flash fiction up to 500 words.
  5. Tone and Style: We encourage a conversational and relatable tone. All submissions should portray the Sass n’ Soul values, and be informative, inspiring, and accessible to a broad audience.

Submission Process

  1. Format: Submit your article in a Word document (.doc or .docx) or Google Docs format. Use an easy-to-read 12-point font, double-spaced.
  2. Bio and Photo: Include a brief bio (50-100 words) at the end of your article, along with a high-resolution headshot.
  3. Contact Information: Provide your full name, email address, and any relevant social media handles.
  4. Editing: All submissions will be edited for clarity, style, and length. Major edits will be communicated to the author for approval before publication.

Note: All submissions may also be considered for the Sass n’ Soul blog.

 Themes and Deadlines

  1. Quarterly Themes: We publish themed content each quarterly. Please review our editorial calendar and specify the theme your submission aligns with.
  2. Deadlines: Submissions for themed issues are due by the 15th of the month prior to publication. For example, submissions for the January issue are due by December 15th.

Rights and Payment

  1. Rights: By submitting your work, you grant Sass n’ Soul Digital Magazine the right to publish your article on our website, social media channels, and in print. All other rights remain with the author.
  2. Payment: We do not offer monetary compensation for submissions. However, contributors will receive 5 complimentary digital copies, a byline, a bio, and promotion across our platforms.

How to Submit

  1. Email: Send your submissions to [submissions@The SassnSoulLife.com] with the subject line: “Submission[Month of publication]: [Title of Your Article].”
  2. Attachments: Attach your article, bio, and photo to the email. Include a brief cover letter introducing yourself and explaining how your submission fits our vision.

Response Time

We aim to respond to all submissions within 6 weeks. If you do not hear from us within this time frame, feel free to follow up.
